Personal Development Workshops

STOP PRESS! BY POPULAR DEMAND I'M RUNNING THIS WORKSHOP AGAIN!

"Make Friends with Yourself"

Would you like to discover how to change your life for the better? If you do then come to my workshop:

Date: Saturday, 26 June
Time: 10:00am - 3:00 pm
Venue: Upminster Library
26 Corbets Tey Road
Upminster RM14 2BB

How did the first one go?

This was a hugely enjoyable and enlightening workshop and I found that most delegates shared similar experiences. They also asked for more workshops. Here's what one of them said:

"Going to Sue's workshop made me realise how little I make time to learn to like and trust myself, and how negativity is a state of mind which is all too easy to do.

The course has made me think about how I need to be truthful to myself first of all. Once I learn to be truly truthful then to communicate this effectively to others. I'm convinced this will help with all my relationships.

It was great to see that I wasn't the only one who felt the way I did. Sue has a wealth of experience and has worked through many of these issues herself which means she meets you on an equal level with a lack of judgement. She is very skilled at creating a safe atmosphere. And it was also great to see that it wasn't just women who related to this issue!"

In my workshops my aim is to create an open and encouraging environment for people to explore a variety of topics in order to expand and deepen the quality of their life. The groups are small allowing like-minded people to freely contribute and support each other in their discoveries.

Recent Talks

Sue is entertaining, caring and has a good sense of humour bringing people on board with an infectious verve." Elizabeth J

Here's a description of my recent talks in London and Richmond:

Live interview - 'Conversations with Esther', 2009, sponsored by Lewisham Library, Lewisham, London

Esther Austin, the talk show host, will be setting the scene on the theme of 'Who we are as women: the power behind understanding who we really are.' She will then interview Sue Plumtree, author of 'Dancing with the Mask: Learning to Love and Be Loved', on her own journey to become the woman she is today - happy and fulfilled.

How did it go?

This was a well-attended event. Esther read excerpts from my book and asked some penetrating and thought-provoking questions, such as "What would you say was the most important thing you learned so far?".

My answer was "To take responsibility. This includes responsibility over my thoughts, my feelings, the quality of my relationships and the circumstances of my life. Taking responsibility is hugely empowering and, by letting go of blame, I have been able to create a hugely rewarding life and I'm attracting some wonderful people into my life."

'Meet the Author, 2009, sponsored by East Sheen Library, Richmond

Sue Plumtree will be talking about her autobiography, 'Dancing with the Mask: Learning to Love and Be Loved', and her journey since her book was published.

How did it go?

The room allocated by Jeremy Preston was completely full. My event was a departure from his usual programme in that this was the first time the library introduced a non-fiction event. The audience was warm and receptive, and I was delighted with the extent to which they engaged with me.

See my video of a reading from my book, 'Dancing with the Mask: Learning to Love and Be Loved', which is shown on this website.

'Living peacefully through turbulent times', 2009, sponsored by iFactor Network

Sue will share the tools she has learned through her own turbulent times which enabled her to empower herself to deal with challenges in a creative way.

How did it go?

Turbulence, stress and fear in these times of (often unwanted) change is such a current topic that I felt the audience engaged with every single word. Nods and smiles of recognition abounded. The exercise about how to develop inner resilience proved particularly useful as shown by the insightful comments and contributions that followed.

'Life Coaching workshop - Celebrating Adult Learners' Week', 2009, sponsored by Richmond Library, Richmond

Come and find out how Sue Plumtree changed her life for the better, learn her techniques, and apply them to turn your own life around. Be inspired! 'Dancing with the Mask: Learning to Love and Be Loved', Sue's second book, is an account of a unique and profoundly transformational journey. Join us. You'll be amazed at what you can achieve.

How did it go?

The evening focused on two particularly powerful concepts: how we express 'non love' towards ourselves and other people, and how we allow others to act 'non lovingly' towards us. The second concept was around 'making friends with ourselves'. Sue's gift for inspiring a sense of safety allowed the audience to open up and make some very personal disclosures which, in turn, made everybody else feel they were not alone. The feedback, collected by the library afterwards, was wonderful: "wanted more" and "longer time".
